RNG Webcast

This summer, Gilbert Creative traveled to Boston for Planet Retail Net Group’s semi-annual webcast. RNG uses this webcast to update their major retail clients on the current and future state of the retail industry. We successfully webcast the live program to more than 30 different corporations including, Wal-Mart, Visa, and Clorox without any technical issues. How did we do it? Take a look!

We used 2 Blackmagic cinema cameras with Canon lenses, which we prefer for the image quality and ease of transportation. We ran SDI into our Livestream all-in-one switcher/transcoder. This device not only allows us to live switch like a newscast but it also transcodes the video and prepares it for output to the web. That signal is then sent out to the Go-to-Webcast platform which synchronizes high-quality slide images that the presenter can control, polls & surveys, and video playback. Interesting poll questions were inserted into the webcast so the participants could weigh in with their opinions. Then we were able to share the poll results with the audience.

Using this technology, we executed a 5 ½ hour, seven presenter webcast with periodic 10-minute breaks. After the webcast was over, we separated the individual presentations and made them available for on-demand viewing. We also provided the live webcast and on-demand viewing in a very private, secure environment. With a set up this manageable and very positive results, the only question left is what are you waiting for?
